Graduated in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid and in History from the Spanish Open University (UNED). María García de la Fuente has worked as an environmental journalist for 25 years, when she started at the Europa Press news agency. After 8 years, she became part of the team that founded the Público newspaper, in the Science section. María has worked in the Press Office of the Spanish Ministry for the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs; she is currently Chair of the Spanish Environmental Journalism Association (APIA).
