Erlantz is an Associate Professor at the Department of Graphic Expression and Engineering Projects at the Bilbao School of Engineering of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where she lectures at undergraduate and Master’s level (Ecodesign and the Circular Economy, Circular Materials). Erlantz has been the Lead Researcher of the Life Cycle Thinking Group since it was set up in 2021. Her work is focused on developing environmentally sustainable materials and technologies based on renewable polymers (cellulose, chitin, lignin) using green chemistry, biomimetic, bioeconomic and circularity approaches. Thus, Erlantz has published >140 indexed articles and her index is h = 50. The Life Cycle Thinking Group uses a life cycle approach, based on the lifecycle assessment (LCA), to apply ecodesign in areas such as energy storage, plastic recycling or the energy footprint.
