
The Basque Circular Summit 2025 will also have a VILLAGE, where a score of stakeholders and entities working for the circular economy will have the opportunity to showcase their activity and projects to the summit delegates.
Many of the stakeholders and entities in the VILLAGE are taking part in the Basque Circular Summit 2025 FORUM by organising a SIDE EVENT that is part of the summit’s programme.
The content and programme of each of the side events are available in the FORUM section.
Registration for the FORUM is required to attend the SIDE EVENTS as the sessions have limited capacity.

Stakeholders and entities

The Basque Government's Ministry of Industry, the Energy Transition and Sustainability drives innovation and technology, the internationalisation of companies, energy and industrial policy, the circular economy, digital transformation, protecting the environment and water, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Industry is the driving force of the Basque Country, is competitiveness and is quality jobs; and it is a commitment for the future. The Basque Country wishes to lead Europe's reindustrialisation with three lines of action: more industry, better industry and fewer emissions.

Aclima, the Basque Environment Cluster, is a benchmark and linchpin of the Basque Country's environmental industry with a track record of over 30 years (ON THE GREEN ROAD) and 139 partners. They are a guide and driving force for other stakeholders to adopt a holistic commitment and vision to implement sustainability in their activities overall. Furthermore, we focus on sustainable growth, by firmly committing to integrating both the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda, and the European Green Deal.

Baskegur is the professional association representing the Basque timber and forestry sector; it is the voluntary meeting body and consultative centre for the sector and its associated industries. Baskegur encompasses the entire value chain from forest property, forest service companies, auctioneers, first transformation companies (saws and packaging workers), pulp and paper industry, second transformation companies (furniture, structure, carpentry, etc.) and closing the chain, to bioenergy companies.

ONTZI is a private-public imitative jointly driven by the BASQUE FOOD CLUSTER and the ELIKA Foundation. It emerged from the packaging and container working group coming under the RIS 3 smart specialisation strategy in 2022.
Its goal is to assist Basque food companies to achieve competitive, sustainable and safe management of its packaging and containers. This platform – consisting of over 500 stakeholders including food and ancillary companies, along with ones supplying materials, startups, research and knowledge brokers, along with institutions and other associations – therefore provides legal and technical advisory services, information and training and guidance for designing projects based on revitalisation and the prioritisation of sectoral challenges in that regard.

The stand showcases Ontzi, the Basque packaging and container innovation community driven by ELIKA and the Basque Food Cluster. Catalunya Circulas is the innovation hub and meeting point of companies and institutions that contribute solutions and strategies to consolidate the circular economy in Catalonia. In a global context marked by significant legislative changes, it drives cross-cutting actions and initiatives to foster circularity in the territory and facilitate its adoption in strategic sectors. Promoted by the Catalan Government as a tool to develop the Roadmap for the Circular Economy of Catalonia (FRECC) 2030 and its Action Plan 2024-2026, it has the support of its 40 member entities, which are promoter organisations of the circular economy in the private and public spheres.

The EUSKALIT stand is where you can learn about the framework to incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the management of companies and organisations. A method to analyse the level of alignment of the management system with the SDGs, from the perspective of sustainable development.
We have also developed a web tool so that the method can be used autonomously and freely. Any organisation can access and conduct a self-assessment structured on the SDGs.
Alongside this, the Euskadi 2030 Agenda Award will be presented to disseminate the importance of integrating SDGs in management as an aspect of sustainable competitiveness and to achieve the effective commitment of organisations.

Navarra Environmental Management – Nafarroako Ingurumen Kudeaketa (GAN-NIK) is the innovative and specialist public entity and the benchmark in environmental management in Navarra. GAN-NIK is showcasing the different circular economy initiatives in which we are involved, with emphasis on their benefit and opportunities for each key sector of society (citizens, public administration, business and academia). Habic is the cluster for the habitat, wood, office and contract sector in the Basque Country; its goal is to consolidate its position as a benchmark in innovation and sustainable competitiveness. STAND ACTIVITY
The stand will mainly showcase the following areas:
- SDG alignment of the Habic strategic plan. We have developed a tool in order to make it easier for companies to identify an updated framework that allows all the socio-environmental and SDG actions being implemented to be organised and grouped. The aim is to help companies to use data and rigour to show their contribution to sustainability.
- Applicability of the circular economy in our sector. The companies of the sector have embraced the circular economy from sustainable design to the use of the recycled materials. The following important challenge of the companies is the extended producer responsibility and the extension of the product life cycle (maintenance, reuse and recycling).

Through Dekosocial Fundazioa (a foundation board together with the Spanish Red Cross and Naturklima), it creates private-public partnerships to foster a sustainable and inclusive society.

The stand will cover the following areas:
- Collaboration with different stakeholders regarding the collection of reusable materials.
- An experimentation procedure (from the idea, mapping, prototyping, to the development) uses those materials to create sustainable products, mainly out of wood or textile, even though other waste is used.

Waste Lab Bizkaia is the benchmark locally for driving research, innovation, experimenting and collaboration around the circular economy in terms of waste prevention and management.

The spotlight is on Waste Lab Bizkaia, the new waste awareness and innovation centre, which is located at the Zamudio technology park. The centre has been opened by Bizkaia Provincial Government through Garbiker, with EIDE (the Basque design association) and ACLIMA (the environment cluster).

The LIFE WEEELOOP project proposes a new holistic management system for WEEEs based on circular economy models, which allows a significant improvement in the rates of reusing components and recycling those devices by authorised waste manager, along with better environmental performance by the manufacturers of such equipment.
