Saioa Ramos graduated in Biology and has a PhD in Environmental Agro-biology from the University of the Basque Country – Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV-EHU). She has over 15 years’ experience in areas related to the sustainability of the Food Industry and is currently senior researcher at the AZTI-BRTA Efficiency and Sustainability Division. Her work focuses on using Life Cycle Assessment and Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) to conduct environmental processes of food products and processes, in order to identify and implement environmental improvement strategies throughout the food value chain. Furthermore, Saioa is working on different projects to develop multicriteria software tools and prototypes to implement, calculate, check and the effective communication of the environmental footprint of food products.
