Olaia Irulegi graduated in Technical Engineering in Industrial Design (Mondragón University, 2003, Spain) and has a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design (Duisburg-Essen University, Germany, 2006); she is the general manager of DIARADESIGN, a strategic design team based in Mondragón, and with international outreach and part of the KREAN cooperative group and which has belonged to the MONDRAGON CORPORATION since it was founded in 1986. Over the years, she has worked with a wide range of companies around the world, transforming strategies into realities and improving the user-customer experience from a business approach. Olaia has been regularly invited as an inspirational speaker, mainly in Europe and Asia, and has sat on the jury for several prizes, including the IF Design Award and the BIEMH Award for Design and Innovation. Since 2012, she has been a member of the management board of EIDE, the Basque Design Association, and had chaired the board from 2020 to 2024. She also regularly lectures at Mondragón University and Tecnun.
