Qualified in European Law and International Law (Degree in Law from the University of the Basque Country, Master’s Degree in International Law and European Law, Louvain University). Specialisation programmes in sustainable investment portfolio (Uned) and impact investments (Essec Business School).
María is currently managing partner of SOFIVER. She advises companies on defining the implementation and assessment of sustainability strategies and reporting. She is also a partner of WAS (Women Action Sustainability), a legal expert of the European B-Solutions Programme, and Director of the Atlas of the Committed Company of the Basque Country, an initiative to assess and disseminate the sustainability of Basque companies.
Over 25 years of extensive experience in strategic transport and environmental consultancy companies (International Bask Consulting, LBR, Eurodefi), in climate transition and mobility investment companies (GAMI, ARGO CAPITAL PARTNERS), and as a lecturer in Environmental Law (Deusto University).
