Kiana Keshavarz

PHD Researcher at Tecnun

Kiana Keshavarz is studying for her PhD in applied engineering at Tecnun, the School of Engineering at Navarra University; her research area is focused on the role of the consumer in the circular economy, particularly in the food sector. She graduated in Economic from Shahid Beheshty University of Teheran and has a Master’s Degree in Applied Research in Business and Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Kiana’s research is focused on exploring consumption of sustainable food, analysing the impact of social norms, awareness and price sensitivity in consumers’ decision making.

Her work uses Structural Equation Models (SEM) and Agent Based Modelling (ABM) to analyse and forecast sustainable purchasing behaviour. Kiana is currently developing an ABM methodology to simulate sustainable food choices and is research the potential of interventions such as awareness-raising campaigns to foster sustainable consumption patterns among consumers.
