PhD in Thermal Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) (2014) and Full Professor at the Bilbao School of Engineering. Jon has 2 six-year research periods. He is a member of the ENEDI – Energy in Building research group, recognised as Type A by the Basque Government. He has supervised two PhD dissertations and been part of numerous research projects with private and public funding; his research is focused on the field of energy efficiency in the built environment. Thanks to this research work, he has published over twenty articles in high impact journals. Since 2019, Jon has been a member of the Academic Committee of the Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in SMACCs – Smart Cities and Communities, run by a consortium currently consisting of the UPV/EHU, Mons University (BE), Vaasa University (FI) and the International Hellenic University (GR); he also teaches several subjects on this master’s course.
