Heriberto Pérez graduated as a Civil Engineer from Burgos University; he has an Industrial Organisation Engineering Degree and an International PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the UPV/EHU. After over 6 years at Excavaciones Cantábricas, S.A. as works manager and production manager for some of the most important civil engineering works in Bizkaia, Heriberto joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in the area of Construction Engineering; he lectures there on the Degree in Civil Engineering, mainly in subjects related to highways and railways. He is currently a Full University Professor.
Heriberto’s main research lines are related to highways: road metalling deterioration, use of waste materials in asphalt mixes, and recycled road metalling and road safety. He has published over 30 JCR articles on road metalling and tunnels, and is the author of over 20 papers at international conferences. He has written 6 teaching manuals.
