Diego Malo Orbañanos

Waste Management Technician at Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council

Diego graduated in Environmental Sciences from the University of Wolverhampton (England). He has 10 years’ experience in Environmental Consultancy and 12 years in the public sector. Diego is currently a Senior Waste Management and Circular Economy Technician in the Environment Department of Vitoria Gasteiz City Council; he is responsible for the municipal collection services, the citizen activation campaigns in the circular economy, sectoral waste prevention projects, along with the community and individual composting system, the Garbigunes-recycling points, the contract for collecting bulky waste with a circular economy approach, and for the city’s Reuse Centre, Reutilizagune. Diego is also the technician appointed to represent his area on the team drafting Vitoria-Gasteiz’s 2030 Strategy and the Circular Economy Plan 2024-2027.
