Carmen Redondo graduated in Law, has a Master’s Degree on the European Union, and a post-graduate diploma in Consumer Protection.
She heads the Institutional Relations at HISPACOOP, the Spanish Confederation of Consumer and User Cooperatives; she is the institutional representative on different representation and advisory bodies, and has managed the Consumer Affairs Division, with circular economy, waste and resources management, energy, food, sustainable and consumption projects, since 2019.
Member of the Spanish Consumer and User Council (CCU), and representing the consumer in the Packaging and Packaging Waste Working Group of the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
Member of the Sustainable Development Council of the Spanish Ministry for Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda, representing the social interests of the consumers; she belongs to the Working Group to review the Sustainable Development Strategy.
Member of the Electricity Advisory Board, in the Spanish National Authority for Markets and Competition (CNMC) representing household consumers.
Member of the Working Groups on Food and Sustainability Policy in the European organisation Euro Coop, and of the European Commission’s Working Groups on energy and consumer affairs (DG ENER /JUST&CONSUMER).
Carmen is on different committees, business and citizen platforms, and in working groups; she is a speaker at symposiums, conferences, seminars… on sustainability, the circular economy green claims, greenwashing, packaging, the bioeconomy, etc.
