Aitor Arzuaga (1975) graduated as a Telecommunications Engineer from the Bilbao School of Engineering (1999), and has an Executive MBA from Deusto Business School (2012). His career began at Hewlett Packard, Ericsson and Tecnalia. Aitor subsequently moved to ZIV in 2002 where he was in charge of the technical part of the company and of developing the range of Smartgrid products; he rose to become managing director of the ZIV Metering division, which involved the opening of plants in India and France. After his time at Aclara (Hubbell) as Global Vice-President of technology, Aitor became CEO of IBIL, a Repsol group company offering electric vehicle charging technology and services. In April 2022, Aitor was appointed General Manager of ALBA Emission Free Energy, a new Petronor company to develop its energy transition business. That includes renewable hydrogen, synthetic fuels, the circular economy, sustainable mobility and energy communities.
Aitor is the author of over 30 technical publications on the energy sector. Furthermore, he cofounded Asimob, a startup that applies artificial intelligence to improve road safety. He has also been CEO of Edinor, Basque Hydrogen and Biscay Eco Aggregates (all belonging to the Repsol Gorup) and has been a board member of Elto Iberia (Renault Group).
