Ainara Martinez has a PhD in Applied Economics and is an expert in the design and implementation of R&D&I projects focused on sustainability and the circular economy. She currently coordinates the Sustainability and Circular Businesses team at MIK, the research centre in business innovation and business data analytics at the Enpresagintz/Business Faculty at Mondragon University.
Ainara has over 15 years’ experience in this field and has led key initiatives to drive triple sustainability – economical, social and environmental – in the business fabric; foster the adoption of circular practices in industrial environments; reduce the environmental impact of products, and drive green job creation locally. Her work is noted for combining applied research and strategic management, by providing innovative solutions that contribute to the transition towards more responsible, competitive and environmentally-committed business models.
