Mikel Amundarian Leibar graduated in Economics (Majoring in International and Development), Master’s Degree in Finances (UPV/EHU) and Executive MBA from ESIC.
Since 2024, Mikel has been the Board Member-General Manager of EVE – Basque Energy Board, the Basque Government’s Public Energy Agency. As the EVE General Manager, he is a member of the board of 29 companies in the field of energy, alongside companies such as Iberdrola, Repsol-Petronor, Gunvor, Sociedades, IDAE and Giroa-Vealia.
Up until 2024, his posts included being a member of the National Energy Commission (CNE) (2001-2006), Naturgas-EDP Regulation Manager (2006-2017) and Nortegas (2017-2019).
Mikel was a member of the Basque Government between 2019 and 2024, as the Director of Industry and the Deputy Ministry for Industry of the Basque Government, where his protocol included Industry, Ports and Internationalisation.
