José Luis Galvez Martos

PhD in Chemical Engineering. Expert in Analysing and Optimising Sustainability in Construction.

Over 20 years’ experience in the technical, economic and environmental analysis of industrial processes, José Luis has specialised in studying the environmental performance of construction materials and systems. His career includes collaborations with leading institutions such as the Complutense University of Madrid, the European Commission, Aberdeen University and TECNALIA, where he is currently developing innovative strategies for material efficiency in construction and the decarbonisation of the sector. Throughout his career, José Luis has taken part in over 47 innovation and research projects (regional, national and international), leading 22 of them. His work has influenced the design of European circular economy and sustainability policies, with special impact on waste-to-energy systems, cutting the carbon footprint in the cement industry, new technologies to capture and reuse CO₂, and developing instruments for sustainability in construction.
