Deputy Head of Circular Economy and Industrial Leadership - Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Commission

Alejandro Villanueva has a degree in industrial engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a PhD in environmental engineering from Denmark Technical University (DTU). He worked at the European Environment Agency’s Thematic Centre on Waste and Material Flows in Copenhagen for several years before joining the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Seville, where he is currently deputy head of the circular economy and industrial leadership unit.
